Abstract submission
Abstract Submission: Ends February 11th [EXTENDED]
$25 for abstract submission

 All submissions in the areas of Kinesiology Sciences and Physical and Health Education are welcomed, including but not limited to:
  • Biomechanics

  • Cardiorespiratory Physiology 

  • Exercise and Health

  • Metabolism

  • Molecular Biology

  • Muscle Physiology 

  • Neuroscience

  • Nutrition

  • Pedagogy

  • Rehabilitation

  • Sports and Exercise Psychology 

  • Sports Sociology and Cultural Studies 


*Abstracts for project proposals, studies in progress or complete data sets are all encouraged.

 

Guidelines for Abstracts

 

*In order to submit an abstract, you must first purchase the Abstract Submission, then an email with a link to the Abstract Submission Google Form will be sent to you by email*

  • Provide an abstract title and list all authors separated by a comma (e.g., RT Moore [1], BM Lee [2], N Jones[1,2])

  • Author affiliations to be listed by number notation and should include department/office and location (e.g., [1] Department of Kinesiology & Physical Education, McGill University, Montreal, QC)

  • Maximum 300 words for abstract body

    • Abstract body should be organized into the following sections: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusion

    • Note: It is recommended that you complete this in a word document and copy and paste into the text box on the abstract submission form

 

 

Guidelines for Posters

  • Poster size: 3 ft x 3ft

  • Poster board location are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis

  • Please arrive at the New Residence Hall Ballroom with your poster at 9:00am; all posters will need to be set up by 10:00am to ensure the conference begins on time

  • Posters will be up all day, however there are two dedicated poster presentation periods (please refer to our schedule). We encourage you to remain by your poster during both these time slots to facilitate greater exchange with judges and attendees.

Student Presentations for No Award:

Presentations for No Award will be poster presentations, displayed throughout the day to maximise exposure. The selection committee will decide on the presentation format and communicate it to the presenters in advance. Students are invited to indicate a presentation format preference in the Abstract Submission Form.

Student Presentations for Presentation Awards:

If you would like your abstract to be considered for a Presentation Award, please fill out the Student Award Application section in the Abstract Submission Form. If your abstract is selected to be considered for an award, you will be notified in advance. If your abstract is not chosen to be considered for a Presentation Award, you will be automatically included in the general poster presentation format.

Undergraduate Oral Presentation

The Undergraduate Student Presentation Award - $250

Awarded to the most outstanding undergraduate student project across all areas of Kinesiology Sciences and Physical and Health Education. Candidates will be selected for oral presentation slots (10 min + 3 min Q&A). 

Graduate Oral Presentation

The Graduate Student Presentation Award - $250

Awarded to the most outstanding graduate student project across all areas of Kinesiology Sciences and Physical and Health Education. Candidates will be selected for oral presentation slots (10 min + 3 min Q&A). 

Poster Presentation

The Poster Presentation Award - $250

Awarded to the most outstanding poster across all areas of Kinesiology Sciences and Physical and Health Education, among students selected for a poster presentation. 

3 Minute Thesis
Presentation

The 3 Minute Thesis Presentation Award - $250 

Awarded to the most outstanding 3 minute presentation across all areas of Kinesiology Sciences and Physical and Health Education. 

How to Apply for Award Presentations:

Interested students can apply by filling out the Student Award Application section of the abstract submission form. It is recommended that you complete this in a word document and copy and paste into the text box on the abstract submission form.

  1. Name of award to which you are applying

  2. Rationale of your research (maximum 150 words).

  3. Implications of your research (maximum 150 words).

The selection committee will base its decision on:​

  1. The level of the student and the written description of the rationale and significance 

  2. The quality of the presentation and the ability to answer questions

Awards Ceremony:

Awards will be presented at the end of the day March 2nd, 2024.
