Q: What time is registration?

A: A conference schedule is being finalized; however, registration will take place from 3pm-5pm during the first day of the conference on March 1st, 2024 in the Jeanne Timmins Amphitheater Foyer. If you are unable to register the first day, you will be able to register in the morning of the second day between 9am-10am. The first presentation is scheduled to begin at 10:00 am, please be prompt.

Q: I am not well acquainted with the department. How can I identify others?

A: You will receive a name tag and lanyard for the day. Please keep your name tags. 

 

Q: When does the conference end?

A: The conference is scheduled to end around 8pm on Friday March 1st and around 7pm on Saturday March 2nd. The conference will be followed by a social each night.

 

Q: Is there a conference social?

A: Yes! There will be a social at Le Vieux/ The Old Dublin Pub & Restaurant following Friday March 1st. There will be an evening social at Délices & Rhums following Saturday March 2nd.

 

Q: This is my first conference attendance, what should I wear?

A: Research conferences are professional opportunities to social network and disseminate your research. Typical conference dress code is business casual.

 

Q: My presentation was in the morning; do I need to stay all day?

A: All presenters are strongly encouraged to spend the day at the conference and support your peers who present after you.

 

Q: What if my presentation is longer than the allotted time given to me?

A: We will be following a strict conference schedule. For oral presentations, the session coordinator will give you a 3 min and 1 min warning during your presentation as you approach your time limit. If your allotted time is up, you will have a 1-minute grace period, at which point the session coordinator will interrupt and end your presentation to begin the Q and A period (3 min in duration). Please come rehearsed and prepared!
